Siloed operations within its IT Portfolio, as each department operated independently, leading to a lack of transparency, collaboration, governance and effective problem-solving
CHEP had a decentralized approach and a cumbersome process was in use for assigning resources to projects. Due to this situation, CHEP lacked the ability to conduct resource capacity planning at a higher/portfolio level as well as centralized Project Costing where all project cost elements were captured and visible together. This resulted in a lack of trust in the Project Online dataset to make management decisions.
Microsoft Project Online was being used successfully but lacked an elegant and efficient way of doing Portfolio level resource planning and centralized Portfolio Project Costing / Planning. To minimize change and drive adoption, CHEP was able to leverage OnePlan’s Financial and Resource Planner with integration to the existing Project Online solution.
