Everllence, formerly MAN Energy Solutions, is a German company that provides propulsion, decarbonization, and efficiency solutions for the shipping, energy, and industrial sectors. Guided by the motto “Moving big things to zero,” the company offers a range of products including engines, turbomachinery, propellers, and technologies for carbon capture, large heat pumps, and green hydrogen production. Headquartered in Augsburg, Germany, Everllence employs about 15,000 people across more than 140 locations globally and is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group.
The journey began in November 2024 with a proof of concept (PoC) testing how a shared OnePlan environment could improve collaboration between the two areas (Production and Group IT). The success of this concept paved the way for the further development of a scalable solution, which eventually led to the merger of the previously separate instances.
“The new OnePlan environment offers clear added value for production and logistics: Since there is close cooperation with Group IT in most projects, it is obvious to make the processes more uniform and to introduce a common technical basis. The solution not only supports our division, but also raises project portfolio management to a higher level of maturity throughout the company.”
Everllence faced the challenge of bringing together previously separate portfolio management efforts into a single, joint solution that could support both business and IT. The organization also needed a company-wide, uniform roadmap planning tool to improve visibility and alignment across teams. At the same time, enabling seamless integration between business planning and IT planning was critical to ensure priorities, resources, and strategic goals were consistently aligned across the enterprise.
With the successful harmonization of the OnePlan systems, Group IT and Supply Chain & Production joined forces in a joint Project Portfolio Management (PPM) system. This step not only marked a technological innovation, but also symbolized a far-reaching strategic integration of business and IT.
“With the successful introduction of OnePlan, an important step has been taken towards integrated, strategic IT planning. The company-wide uniform planning tool enables seamless integration of business and IT, creates transparency about all IT requirements and forms the basis for future-oriented roadmap planning. Thanks to OnePlan, IT needs can be systematically recorded, prioritized and aligned with the overarching corporate strategy.”
