Challenges Before OnePlan

Before adopting OnePlan, Baptist Health Care faced challenges in tracking and managing the extensive work within the organization. The need to monitor major initiatives, their progress, and the allocation of resources was paramount. Relying solely on manual processes or vendor-managed schedules was proving to be inadequate.

Choosing OnePlan

Baptist Health Care embarked on a journey to modernize its project and portfolio management tools. They evaluated several solutions, considering factors such as value, integration with Microsoft technologies, and configurability. OnePlan stood out as the solution that best aligned with their needs.

Given the sensitive nature of healthcare data and the constant threat landscape, Baptist Health Care prioritizes IT security and compliance. OnePlan’s investment in security measures and its adherence to industry standards, such as SOC 2 reports, provided reassurance to Baptist Health Care.

The value proposition offered by OnePlan was particularly appealing to Baptist Health Care, being a not-for-profit organization focused on delivering impactful solutions within a reasonable budget. IT Project Management Office (PMO) PPM Evolution

Initially, the focus of the IT PMO was on adaptive portfolio management. The primary goal was to efficiently manage projects, resources, and budgets across various departments and initiatives. OnePlan’s robust features, such as task tracking, resource allocation, and real-time reporting, provided the necessary foundation for this phase.

During this stage, Baptist Health Care gained invaluable insights into the status of projects, timesheets, and potential bottlenecks. The PMO team leveraged OnePlan’s capabilities to optimize project workflows, ensure timely deliverables, and address immediate challenges as they arose.

  • Maturing into Strategic Portfolio Management

As Baptist Health Care grew more adept at managing its project portfolio, the focus shifted towards strategic portfolio management. This phase marked a significant shift towards aligning IT projects with the organization’s long-term strategic objectives.

OnePlan PPM played a pivotal role in this transformation by offering advanced features for strategic planning & OKRs, scenario analysis, and investment prioritization. The PMO team could now evaluate projects not only based on their individual merits but also in the context of the organization’s broader vision.

  • Advancing into Enterprise Architecture

Alongside the evolution towards strategic portfolio management, Baptist Health Care recognized the need to develop a robust enterprise architecture framework. This entailed aligning IT initiatives with the organization’s overall architecture, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and future-proofing of systems.

OnePlan’s integration capabilities with enterprise architecture tools and frameworks facilitated this transition. The PMO team could now map out the IT landscape, identify dependencies, and plan for technology upgrades or migrations with greater precision.

By leveraging OnePlan’s enterprise architecture features, Baptist Health Care gained a comprehensive view of its IT ecosystem. This holistic perspective enabled informed decision-making regarding technology investments, system integrations, and digital transformation initiatives.
